Levels are designed so that there are areas that only Jazz or Spaz can get to. The star of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is the level design. You can also switch between weapons using the number keys. By combining a jump and duck, you can stomp open crates that contain power-ups and bonus items. Both rabbits have their own special moves and abilities: Jazz can use his ears to glide down slowly and can jump higher, while Spaz is faster and can pull off an awesome karate kick and a two-phase jump.

You can play at any of the three difficulty levels as either Jazz or Spaz, Jazz's more devious brother. The gameplay remains the same as Jazz Jackrabbit, but with a much-improved engine and better everything. In order to complete the time machine, he (strangely enough) stole a wedding ring that Jazz gave to his beloved. This time, he came up with an ingenious idea: go back in time to kill Jazz's parents, thus preventing him from being born in the first place. The big bad guy from the original game, doctor Devan Shell the mad turtle scientist, is back with another nefarious plot to kill our hero. In addition to smoothly animated cartoons, funny antics, and varied levels, JJ2 boasts a charming plot that is told via comic-book style intro movie (missing from this CD-rip, though). Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is a superb 2D platformer, a sequel to Epic Megagames' earlier shareware classic Jazz Jackrabbit. Expect it fixed in the next release. One of the best side-scrolling arcade games ever made, bar none. Things like Next Level don't work very well in offline games for whatever reason, and the bulk of Game Options just doesn't work offline. The menu commands in single player stuff is still some 'work in progress' actually. Good thing though that the menus actually allow the game to get started again. I wonder how this bug got caused, the concept of stopped games is nothing new.

Actually in my opinion all the multiplayer-commands should be disabled for single-player, even if they can be just considered as alternatives for jjcheats. So simply what needs to be done is to have the game 'on' by default in single-player without having the option to stop it from the menus either which is possible now.ĮDIT2: There are also more menu-commands that can be abused in single-player such as 'Reset Game' to restore all your health.

While Zeal Alpha had a game running>it left on the game 'started' for me, meanwhile ZD1 had a game stopped, resulting in my client having itself in stopped-mode. Afterwards, I restarted jj2, visited Zeal Duels 1 without even spectating off, and after the same bug happened again.ĮDIT: Okay I guess I figured it out Whenever the game is stopped you won't receive any damage in multiplayer, and logically neither in single-player. I tried reproducing it by first running jj2, visiting zeal alpha for a second, then went to sp, but I could receive damage normally. Okay, apparently it's not just any server or any circumstance.
